Uses
The Lasgun is an important element of Stage 1 gameplay for the Humans. Like the Mass Driver, it has perfect accuracy, although it lacks the weapon's zoom feature. It more than makes up for it, however, in the areas of ammunition capacity and rate of fire, both of which are notable. The 200/300 round single magazine of the weapon makes for an excellent offensive weapon, capable of taking on a variety of targets at almost all ranges. Dretches, Basilisks, Marauders, and even Dragoons can effectively be engaged by the lasgun, provided one has enough skill.
The weapon is also useful as a cheaper stand-in for the Chaingun.
